More courses worth your time

A handful of local favorites and hidden gems across the Valley. Every one of these is a round we’d recommend.

Central Scottsdale
Camelback Padre
Arthur Hills · Par 72 · 6,903 yds
Same flawless conditioning as Ambiente. Towering eucalyptus trees, strategic doglegs, water on the back nine, and a finishing par 5 considered one of the best in the state.
Book the twilight window if you can. Padre is flat-out gorgeous when the mountains catch the late light.
Fountain Hills
Desert Canyon Golf Club
Ken Kavanaugh · Par 71 · 6,423 yds
Traditional mountain-backed layout tucked into the foothills of the McDowells. Forgiving landing areas with a handful of tighter desert carries that keep it interesting.
One of the best value rounds in Fountain Hills. Ideal shoulder-day golf when the group needs a breather.
Cave Creek
Dove Valley Ranch
Robert Trent Jones Jr. · Par 72 · 7,095 yds
Wide corridors, player-friendly transitions, and petroglyph-etched boulders marking holes. Plays through willow wash and open desert 20 minutes north of Scottsdale.
Underrated and usually wide open. A great pick when the peak-season resorts are booked solid.
Fountain Hills
Eagle Mountain Golf Club
Scott Miller · Par 71 · 6,800 yds
Forgiving fairways, elevated tees, and panoramic McDowell Mountain views on almost every hole. The signature 17th, Sunset Point, is one of the most photographed par 3s in the Valley.
Ask for a tee time after 2pm in winter. Eagle Mountain’s sunsets are worth the round by themselves.
Gold Canyon
Gold Canyon Sidewinder
Ken Kavanaugh · Par 71 · 6,530 yds
4-star Golf Digest layout at the base of Dinosaur Mountain. Less dramatic elevation than its big-brother course but considerably more affordable, with the same Superstition Mountain backdrop.
Best value round in the East Valley. Great morning play when you’re lodging at Gold Canyon Resort.
North Scottsdale
Grayhawk Talon
Graham & Panks · Par 72 · 6,973 yds
The original Grayhawk layout. Five sets of tees, dramatic elevation changes, and native desert waste areas that frame every hole. Same five-star service you get at the Raptor.
The par-3 17th with its island-esque green is one of the most-shared photos to come out of Scottsdale every year.
East Valley · Mesa
Longbow Golf Club
Ken Kavanaugh · Par 71 · 7,003 yds
One of the East Valley’s most consistent conditioning stories. Generous fairways, mature trees, and zero housing on most of the front nine. Parkland feel rare in the desert.
Great round to stack when you’re already playing Talking Stick or flying in and out of Sky Harbor. Tee-to-green conditioning punches above its price point.
North Scottsdale
McDowell Mountain Golf Club
Scott Miller · Par 72 · 7,025 yds
Sits against a protected desert preserve, giving it some of the quietest views of any public course in North Scottsdale. Plenty of elevation change, strategic bunkering, and cactus-lined fairways.
When the Troon North tee sheets are full, this is where the locals send you. Ten minutes away, half the price.
Central Scottsdale
McCormick Ranch Palm
Desmond Muirhead · Par 72 · 7,044 yds
Water in play on 10 holes and mature palms framing wide fairways. Classic parkland with panoramic mountain views and big sparkling lakes that give the course its character.
The par-4 9th has been named one of America’s top 18 water holes. Bring an extra sleeve for it.
Central Scottsdale
McCormick Ranch Pine
Desmond Muirhead · Par 72 · 7,187 yds
The longer and more demanding of the McCormick pair. Fewer water hazards but elevated, well-protected greens create the scoring challenge. One of the stronger tests for low-handicap groups at a fair price.
Play Pine in the morning and Palm in the afternoon. 36 at McCormick is a full Scottsdale day done right.
East Valley · Gilbert
Power Ranch Golf Club
Ken Kavanaugh · Par 71 · 6,764 yds
Consistently well-conditioned parkland layout in Gilbert with rolling contours, mature cottonwoods, and strategic water features. Not a target-desert course — a great shift in character during a longer trip.
High value play, strong agronomy. Good to pair with Longbow or Gold Canyon for an East Valley loop.
Fountain Hills
SunRidge Canyon Golf Club
Keith Foster · Par 71 · 6,823 yds
Famous for “The Wicked 6,” a stretch of closing holes that plays uphill through a canyon. Dramatic elevation changes, tight desert carries, and views of the Four Peaks from almost every tee box.
Keep your drives in play on 13 through 18. The last six are some of the most memorable and demanding finishing holes in the Valley.
Salt River Reservation
Talking Stick Piipaash
Coore & Crenshaw · Par 71 · 6,833 yds
The Coore & Crenshaw links counterpart to O’odham. Tighter fairways, more bunkering, and strategic angles that reward well-placed shots over raw distance. Widely considered the more interesting puzzle.
Locals lean Piipaash over O’odham. More variety, more to think about on every hole.
North Scottsdale
TPC Scottsdale Champions
Randy Heckenkemper · Par 71 · 7,115 yds
Same property, same grounds crew, and nearly the same conditioning as the Stadium Course next door, usually at about half the green fee. Locals know it’s one of the smartest price-to-quality plays in North Scottsdale.
Same grounds crew, same quality, usually about half the cost. Locals prefer Champions when Stadium tee sheets are tight.
North Scottsdale
Troon North Monument
Weiskopf & Morrish · Par 72 · 7,028 yds
The original Troon North layout, named for a massive granite boulder that splits the par-5 3rd fairway. Some of the most signature holes in North Scottsdale. Same legendary service and conditioning as Pinnacle.
Arguably the best views of any course in the Valley. Pair with Pinnacle for a full Troon day.
West Valley · Buckeye
Verrado Victory
Lehman & Fought · Par 72 · 7,258 yds
The younger and more demanding of the Verrado pair. Bold contours, fescue-lined fairways, and views of the White Tank Mountains. Frequently appears on Arizona’s Top 10 Public Course lists.
West Valley is underrated. Worth the drive for a day, and Victory is the course that makes the trip worth it.

Common Questions

Scottsdale golf trip FAQ

How many golf courses are in Scottsdale and Phoenix? +

The Scottsdale and Phoenix metro area has over 200 public and resort courses available to visitors, ranging from world-class desert target layouts to stadium-style courses like TPC Scottsdale. No two courses play the same.

What is the best time of year for a Scottsdale golf trip? +

Peak season runs October through May with mild temperatures, clear skies, and firm fast conditions. Scottsdale gets over 300 days of sunshine per year, so even summer trips are playable with early tee times and the right expectations on pricing.

How much does a Scottsdale golf trip cost per person? +

Group packages start from around $485 per person for a 3-round, 2-night trip and go up to $799 or more for premium multi-round packages at top-tier courses with lodging included. Pricing varies by season, group size, and courses selected.

Do you charge booking fees? +

No. We charge zero booking fees. The value we provide is time savings, preferred access to tee times that are difficult to secure on your own, and rates built on the volume of business we bring to our course and lodging partners. You get better access and less hassle than booking everything yourself.

How large of a group can you accommodate? +

We book trips for groups of 4 to 120 players, covering tee times, lodging, transportation, and any extras the group needs. Private homes sleep 16 to 20 players. For larger outings we work with resort partners who handle shotgun formats, group room blocks, and on-site event coordination.

What is the deposit to hold a trip? +

A 10% deposit holds your dates and locks in your tee times and lodging. The balance is due 30 days before arrival. We send reminders and handle the logistics so the trip organizer is not chasing anyone down.
