About the courses
The Boulders, where golf meets the rugged beauty of the Arizona desert. Designed by Jay Morrish, the South Course offers a golf experience that seamlessly integrates with the natural landscape. Water comes into play on a handful of holes, with forced carries found on virtually all of the back tees, while the forward tees are much more receptive to less aerial drives.
Measuring over 6,700 yards, the course unfolds over rolling terrain, featuring large boulder formations that add a unique dimension to each hole. The intricate design, coupled with generous fairways and challenging greens, creates an engaging golf experience for players of all skill levels. As you navigate the course, you will find yourself surrounded by the tranquility of the desert, a golfing sanctuary in beautiful North Scottsdale.

How far is The Boulders from Scottsdale?
About 35 minutes north of Old Town Scottsdale in Carefree. We arrange group transport so nobody is stuck waiting on a rideshare after the round.
Can The Boulders handle our group?
Yes. With two courses on property we can split a larger group across North and South on the same morning, and we book back-to-back tee times for multi-foursome groups.
Who designed the courses?
Jay Morrish designed both courses. The South Course opened in 1984 and the North Course followed in 1985.
What is the dress code?
Collared or mock neck shirts, no denim or swimwear, spikeless shoes.
How much does it cost to play?
